Tori-Emaki Impresses
My Playstation Eye arrived today, and after configuring my PS3 to NAT Type 2 (thanks Paul), I was able to video chat successfully over the PS3 with a Playstation Eye owning friend. Then I downloaded Tori-Emaki, which is probably the best $1.99 I’ve ever spent.

Those who have dismissed Tori-Emaki as a boring screen-saver probably haven’t actually spent any time with it. I found myself mesmerized controlling the flock of ravens with my hands and exploring the ancient Japanese painted landscape. And it isn’t just two-dimensional. You explore depth as well moving into and out of the painting. The audio is also top notch, from the music to the ambient sounds of people, animals, and nature that you come across. The only real goal present other than exploration and relaxation is to find the different natural elements which sends the screen into radical color changes.

Tori-Emaki really sucked me in with its presentation. I expect it’ll be running in the background at my house for the foreseeable future. If you own a Playstation Eye I can’t recommend it enough.
