How do you get even with your main competition when they re-up with the NFL to keep their exclusivity through 2013? You employ the comedian who was the voice of the commercials that EA used while ascending to the top of the sports gaming world.

The new MLB 2K8 commercials star Denis Leary, the same voice that many will remember for “If it’s in the game, it’s in the game” during the second half of the 90s. The new commercial also resembles the old EA commercials. Gameplay is mixed with funny quips from Leary and real baseball clips. They even take a shot at EA’s old phrase at the end of the commercial: “I don’t just want to be in the game, I want to be the game.”
If they really want me to play MLB 2K instead of the EA MLB game, they’ll add Congressional hearings as a new mode. Try to not get caught while lying under oath, fun for the whole family!
