Aeropodcast #24: The CheapyD And Tai Edition.
Joe takes the hosting reins this week, Paul comes along for the ride, and we are pleased to have rolled out our virtual red carpet not just for CheapyD of CheapAssGamer.com but his cute gamer son Tai too. Not to worry the carpet is fully machine washable if Tai drops his bottle.
Cheapy’s days of PlayStation 3 gaming with his Xbox 360 down for the count are almost over but we don’t let Microsoft off the hook for their high failure rates. We also figure out just how well known are Microsoft’s reliability problems among the general public. EA’s $2 Billion offer for Take Two, Cheapy’s upcoming trip back to the US, and Cheapy’s 100% Mac computing environment all made it onto our table.
We also talked about Phil Harrison jumping ship from Sony, Activision’s ridiculous Guitar Hero 3 mono scandal, and we get some perspective on the long road Sony has taken to bringing vibration-enabled controllers back to the US. Cheapy also — thanks to the Dual Shock 3 already being out in Japan — filled us in on whether the Dual Shock 3 really makes a difference for him for PS3 gaming or not.
Also don’t miss Cheapy revealing one of the biggest and probably most overlooked reasons for the Xbox 360′s continued success and how little Tai is ratcheting up the difficulty level for him as he plays games during the day. As gamer dads as well I think Joe and myself can only say: you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
We don’t have a winner yet for the contest, so listen in to hear the trivia question one more time. Answer it and you can win the indie hit game Audiosurf for Windows from Steam.
