The podcast was hosted by George today, and he was joined by Stephen and Paul. Paul started off his play list by disputing Joe’s assertion that the Wii has only two games to play. Stephen and Paul looked at it more as how there are so many games on so many platforms that there is just not enough time to look at everything.
Everyone discussed what they got for Christmas in regards to gaming. Some of the booty that was received was Unreal Tournament for the PS3, Super Mario Galaxy, The Witcher, among others. Steam and Wii Virtual Console gifting was also all the rage for our writers.
Stephen brought up the idea that now, with the success of the Wii, are third party developers starting to warm up to the console? Everyone noted some of the shovelware that has been released, but recently, there have been some more titles in stores and on the way that look to have a lot of promise like No More Heroes, Facebreaker and Fatal Frame to name a few. This also breaks into a Rock Band discussion and whether it has missed the boat on the Wii, now that it has been confirmed for release. Paul mentions that without the downloadable content, the game is basically crippled.
Also, we announced the winner of our Gripshift code, and the winner is Lutz Ehrlich of Heidelberg, Germany. The answer to the question, “What PC game featured a bare-chested hero with multiple sets of arms, a talking statue, a man beating his own head bloody against a wall, a boss battle in a pumpkin patch, and a puzzle that required you to cremate someone after having a conversation with them?”, was Sanitarium by ASC Games. Thanks for listening Lutz and everyone else keep listening for more contests in the future.
In our news section, we talked about the 120 GB PS3 rumors, the requirement for a hard drive to play online in Burnout Parasise, Resistance 2 officially announced and some images from the newest Fatal Frame game.
