Twisted Metal Head On PS2 Details Missed Something

Submitted by on January 17, 2008 – 10:00 amOne Comment

tmhops2 boxDavid Jaffe hit the PlayStation Blog earlier this week to dump the big bucket of content that will be in Twisted Metal Head On: Extra Twisted Edition for the PS2. That’s the port of the first-generation TMHO for the PSP in case you missed that announcement a while back.

The post covers lots of ground. It chats up the extras like the one new level, four levels taken from Twisted Metal: Black, a code to download the Twisted Metal Symphony soundtrack of music from various TM games, an art book, and the 30 minute documentary on TM’s history. It even mentions that the game is headed to retail in February. So what did it not mention?

It didn’t mention anything about online play. Omissions are important, especially since TM:Black was one of the earliest online titles for the PS2. I’m guessing they’ve snipped online play from the game entirely not just because they didn’t mention it on the blog, but because the game is going to be selling for the bargain price of just USD 19.99.

I have a copy of TM:Black kicking around somewhere, and I don’t know if it’s still online playable using my PS3. I should really take it for a spin sometime.
