Turning Point Demo Impressions
When I saw Turning Point for the first time I was really excited. I love WWII games, and this one was set to offer a new perspective on the last great world war. Sadly, I sit here writing completely depressed by what I just played. Turning Point is a bad bad game. It doesn’t even come close to even being mediocre. The first thing that you will notice is that the controls are absolutely horrible. Aiming should be the most tested and well tuned function of any console FPS. There are some games that got it right like Halo and Call of Duty. Turning Point’s controls feel like your gun has a fifty pound led weight on the end weighing you down. Even at the highest sensitivity aiming is frustrating. The agony of Turning Point does not end there though…oh no! Let’s talk about A.I. for a minute, or the lack of any as in this game. Enemies run into walls, they stand in the open just waiting for you to fill them with metal medicine, and they spout out really cliché over the top dialogue. With all these faults going against the game I would have hoped that at least the graphics would have brought something special to the game. It is powered by the amazing, spectacular, fabulous, and trumpeted Unreal III engine after all. To be fair the game does not look bad, but it in no way looks good. The vast landscape of New York is impressive, but the textures and overall art design are just below average in every way. I was going to buy this game when it came out, but after playing the demo it won’t even hold a spot in my Gamefly que.

I first read your comment before trying the game and thought geez, it can’t be THAT bad can it? Then I tried it…
*ahem*
Yep, its really bad. Your should go their forums they set up for the game. People are trashing the game big time. It’s funny because one of the mods keeps trying to defend the game with illogical rants about it being just a demo.
