Sacred 2 Delayed to September 2008

Back in March 2007 we first heard that the sequel to Sacred, a PC-only fantasy hack and slash action RPG was going to have a sequel not only on the PC but on the Xbox 360 as well. The game was most recently headed to retail in the first quarter of 2008 or so but has now been bumped to the almost the last quarter of the year with a September release date.
I’m happy to see a game delayed to focus on the quality of the title, which is what Ascaron Entertainment has admitted. For a game that’s expected to be a clone of Diablo to some extent, it needs to be very much polished and bug-free for it to get some traction in the console and PC world. With nothing but the rumor mill talking about Diablo III it would be nice to have something fresh and click-click-click-addicting to take the place of the nearly geriatric Diablo II.
