Rez HD Thumping Its Way to The Live Arcade On Wednesday
Mention the game Rez and two things come to mind: Fun game and Trance Vibrator. Microsoft seems to have heard this and were able to get Rez creator, Tetsuya Mizuguchi, to update the game for the Xbox Live Arcade. The game is set for release at 2:00 AM on Wednesday, January 30th.
For those that do not know, Rez is a lot like Tron and The Matrix mixed together. Your character travels through the bowels of a computer system, Eden, which has become self-aware and decides to initiate a full shutdown, which would bring mass chaos throughout the world. So your character/avatar is chosen to enter the virtual world and disable all the firewalls and viruses that you come across while looking for a way to reboot the system, which will reset the system to a normalized state. The game plays as a mix between a rail shooter and a rhythm game, as musical beats are in tune to your shooting items on the screen.
Also unique to this game is the ability to use three controllers to add to the rhythm of the game. The game will support up to three controllers to add to the sensation of the game. Mr. Mizuguchi says that he has been playing this version with a controller in the hands, a controller under his feet and then one in the middle of his back. And for anyone wondering or getting it out of the closet, the Trance Vibrator will not work with the game.
I am not doing the game enough justice, but definitely check it out. The game is coming to the Live Arcade on Wednesday, and it will have a price of 800 points ($10USD). No multiplayer is included, but it does have updated visuals and 5.1 Dolby Digital Sound.
