PSP 3.90 Firmware Brings Skype To North America

Sony has delivered on their late January promise of Skype in a PSP firmware update with today’s release of the 3.90 firmware. Since I still have a 1000 series PSP I won’t be able to take it for a spin, and since I have a version of Skype on my Nokia N800 tablet I picked up just after Christmas that I haven’t even tried out yet I don’t really have a burning desire for Skype on the go.
The new firmware doesn’t seem to have any other new features, just an expansion of PS1 title compatibility, but it’s fully compatible with both models of PSP out there so there’s no harm in loading it on the older models.
