No More Heroes bumped up to January 22nd.

No More Heroes was, until now, scheduled to share a release date with Super Smash Bros Brawl in February. Such a marketing choice, knowing in the biz as “suicide,” was a good one to back out of. The game’s got enough hurdles to jump already without having Smash Bros to worry about.

Ubisoft confirmed to IGN Wii this afternoon that No More Heroes has officially been moved up for a January 22 release date — less than three weeks from now, if you’re counting.

That said, as much as I want to play the game, I can’t see picking it up this month unless I win the lottery and quit working altogether so I have time to play what’s already on my plate. But you know what? I promise, if I win the lottery, I’ll keep writing for you people so I can recycle other people’s news for you like this, and put my own personal spin on it, kay?

Woo earlier releases of games getting localized are nice. Check out last month’s hands-on with the JP version on the Dec 21st 1Up Show:

Now imagine if smash brothers came out early too? That would be Wiitastic.
