Factor 5 now developing for Gamecube 1.5. Uh, I mean Wii. Turrican, perhaps?
Ah, it feels like just yesterday that Factor 5′s own Julian Eggebrecht was talking about how upset he was with Nintendo’s decision to set the Wii’s specs as close to the Gamecube’s as they did. Later, he spent some time getting angry with those who were developing on Wii, and not doing a good job. Well, now his path has become clear. Step one, complain about Wii. Step two, complain that nobody’s doing a good job with Wii. Step three, make games for Wii to show them how it’s done.
The maker of the hit GameCube series Rogue Squadron is back. In a phone conversation with IGN Wii this morning, company president Julian Eggebrecht confirmed that the studio is underway with at least one all-new Wii project — and it’s not a Virtual Console game. Beyond that confirmation, Eggebrecht was mum, but he did note that the new title would not simply re-use old Rogue Squadron tech; whatever it is, significantly updated or even completely new tech has been developed to help accommodate it.
Welcome back, Factor 5. Please don’t port Lair. Could it be…. Turrican?
