Brawl out in Japan, videos spilling onto Internet. SHIELDS UP

Spoiler alert, everyone. Not here, in this article, exactly. I mean everywhere. Videos of Super Smash Bros Brawl are popping up all over the web, and if you’re trying to not find out anything more than you already know about who’s in this game and such before the North American launch, you’re going to be hard pressed. You can watch this video, which is the intro to the game, and it won’t give away any characters who were not previously announced… er, that is, who didn’t also appear in Melee. I would steer clear of any other videos on the web, though. Assuming you’re trying to duck the spoilers.

Note that the game’s out now, which means it’s done. Why is it delayed in North America then? Oh, that’s easy. The US is a much bigger country than Japan, and the online play is going to have to speed up a bit if we’re going to be playing this coast-to-coast without much lag. OK, now I’m nervous.

  • Done doesn't mean translated, or at least that's the excuse they give for most of the huge european delays.

Also, there have been numerous reports that this was a paper launch - Nintendo only shipping 25% of preorders to some stores.

One rumor I read was that the delay is so they can print enough disks to make sure they don't sell out in America. Sounds like a pretty good idea tbh, the buzz for this game won't die down just because they held back the release a little bit.
