Agree that Bionic Commando’s a natural fit for Wii? Sign here.

George agreed with me that Bionic Commando makes more sense on Wii than it does on any other platform, and that it didn’t make any sense at all that it was the only platform to be excluded. I believe his exact words were, “don’t even get me started.”

I gave up on the idea quickly, trying to convince myself the game probably wouldn’t be any good anyway. Recently, in an interview with Videogamer.com, producer Ben Judd is quoted on the subject as follows:

VideoGamer.com: Could the game ever come to the Wii? I’m thinking it might be pretty cool to swing Spencer around with the Wii Remote.

BJ: It will largely depend on what the fans want for the future of Bionic Commando. If the interest is there, of course we want as many people as possible to appreciate this great franchise.

I shrugged at this as well, figuring this was how such people dismiss such questions. He’s saying it’s not coming there because it won’t sell there, and he’s probably right.

Seems my cynicism is in the minority. GoNintendo started a petition with the goal of getting the game onto Wii, and it’s thousands of names strong. I’d like to see a success rate for online petitions before I get my hopes up, but it might be clear at this point that where my hopes are now, there’s no way but up.

Bionic Commando definetly suits the Wii, its strange that Capcom decided not to make a Wii version of the game originally.
