UPDATED: Xbox 360 HD-DVD Attachment Down to $129.99
Both Amazon and Toys R Us have lowered the price on the HD-DVD attachment for the 360, putting the accessory at a cool $129.99. This $50 drop puts the drive in the range of the near or sub $100 HD-DVD players that have been flooding the market via Walmart and Target. The price looks to be a permanent drop, which should help HD-DVD in the next gen format war. It is customers that will probably be hurt more though, as this will just help fuel an already splintered market between both Bluray and HD-DVD. That being said, the five free movies that come with the drive via a mail in coupon, and the possibility of getting Heroes in High Definition, is enough to make me cave in to the pressure.
Updated: Seems that Amazon has raised the price back to $179.99, but Toys R Us is still at the same price, but they are now temporarily out of stock.
