Stor3d: High Velocity Bowling, Wild Arms; Rock Band, Folklore, MotorStorm Add-Ons.

    By Paul Munn | December 6, 2007

highvelocitybowling_108x108High Velocity Bowling hits this week offering up to four player bowling in what looks like another offline-only game. Like PAIN last week, this game is USD 9.99 and while I do wish it had online play it might be a good enough party game to have on hand for when friends visit. I also just noticed that the day after last week’s update a pair of characters for PAIN — Cookie and Santa — were released for USD 0.99 each.

Other highlights this week include the PS1 RPG Wild Arms, the just-released GTA IV “Move Up Ladies” trailer, the Metal Gear Solid 4 TGS 2007 Video, the first Folklore add-ons, Rock Band songs, and a MotorStorm car. Capping it off are new, free Uncharted and Ratchet themes.

    Games
High Velocity Bowling comes in at USD 9.99 this week, as I mentioned, and the new PS1 game playable on the PS3 or PSP is Wild Arms at USD 5.99. Is Wild Arms worth a look? Gamespot thought so with an 8.6 review

    Add-Ons
Folklore gets its first add-on content with the Folklore Add-On Bundle 1 for USD 5.99. The bundle brings together Folklore Add-On 1 at USD 3.99 with a new costume for Ellen and four new side-quests and Add-On 2 also at USD 3.99 with a new costume for Keats and four new side-quests. I’m still early on in the game, having been distracted by newer fare, but I’m not giving up on finishing this game.

MotorStorm has a new car available, the Falfer Domino Rally Car for USD 0.99 with three different paint jobs.

The Rock Band song packs keep coming with the release of Black Sabbath Pack 1 for USD 5.49. N.I.B, Sweet Leaf, and War Pigs are also available separately at USD 1.99 each.

    Free Stuff

    Demos
Just one demo this week, a TimeShift Multiplayer Demo. After lackluster reviews I’m not sure if I’m going to peel myself away from my stack of games to play to give this one a try, but hey, it’s free.

    Themes
I’ve been waiting for Sony to start pumping out free themes for their games and today’s release of an Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune theme and a Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools Of Destruction theme hit the spot.

    Game Trailers:
    - GTA IV: Move Up Ladies trailer.
    - Metal Gear Solid 4 – Tokyo Game Show 2007 Video
    - Uncharted “Environments” Video
    - TimeShift FPS Video 3
    - Turok Interview Trailer 1
    - Battlefield Bad Company “Frostbite” Video

    Movie Trailers:
    - Legend of Zorro Blu-ray trailer.

And that’s all on the PS3 store this week. Enjoy!
