Ones To Watch: December 2007 PSP Releases
The most promising title hitting the PSP this month is Atari Classics Evolved. It will sport online leaderboards for a number of the revamped classics alongside a huge number of original Atari 2600 classics. IGN previewed the remakes with videos last month in three parts here, here, and here.
A new hack-and-slash RPG called Warriors of the Lost Empire is sitting on the games-I’ve-never-heard-of shelf and as a single player only game that doesn’t even bother with even adhoc-only multiplayer it will probably stay there. And you never know, the somewhat publicized Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem game I’ve written about a couple of times could end up being good. That one’s got 2-player via ad-hoc only, so I’m guessing a strong single-player adventure will need to be a key feature if that game is to succeed as well.
The rest of the release list this month includes two other movie tie-ins with Beowulf and The Golden Compass and a port of the PS3 title MX vs ATV Untamed. I’m betting the first two won’t be worth your time while the last could be good for folks looking for some off-road fun on the go.
Be sure to keep that battery charged for your holiday travels and you might want to take a look back at what’s on the Greatest Hits shelf if you’re looking for something you might have missed. Or you can hit up the new PlayStation Store online and pick up the download-only Combat Ops for USD 9.99 or Wipeout Pure‘s now download-only format for USD 14.99.
