Majesco, Parappa’s parents, and NanaOn-Sha teaming to make new music game.

I played very little of Parappa the Rapper, but I spent a bit more time watching it and enjoying it a great deal. The unique flat art style along with the funny situations the songs were set to, such as waiting in line for a public restroom, appealed to me a great deal. It is this appreciation that is reflected in my affinity for the Ouendan! titles, which possess somewhat of a similar style.
The names Masaya Matsuura and Rodney Alan Greenblat meant nothing to me when I first saw them in Majesco’s press release, but it turns out these are the guys behind Parappa the Rapper. What Majesco’s talking about is the fact that they will be working with these two to create “an original music-based video game scheduled for release in late 2008.” Original, I would assume, at least partly because Parappa is a Sony property.
More rhythm games for us to play is always a good thing. Let’s hope lightning can strike for these two talented people once more.
