Get Your PSP Store Games Without A Windows PC

Beats Downloading

The roughly 6% of computer users out there who don’t use a Windows PC are a little bit angry at Sony for making the PSP Store on the web a Windows-only affair. While you can browse and buy games on your Mac or Linux box in the store you can’t download and transfer them to your PSP without a special Windows-only piece of software. Sony is working on a Mac version, but there’s no word yet on when it’ll be ready.

If you have PlayStation 3 there is a workaround to let you get PSP Store games onto your PSP and it hinges on the fact that both the PSP Store and the PS3 Store use the same PSN account to log in and buy games. While you can’t buy and download the titles via the PS3 store right now, you can browse to the PSP Store, buy them there, go to Account Management, Transaction History, download the game to your PS3, and then apparently transfer it to your PSP.

I haven’t tried it, having already bought the extremely addicting Beats game last night on my Windows-based desktop, but the full rundown is listed again over at PSPFanboy.
