FASA Studio Exec Starts New Studio, Buys All FASA IPs
Jordan Weissman, the former CEO of FASA Studios, has started a new company called Smith and Tinker, which will focus on new games that merge online and offline worlds seamlessly. Also in the announcement is the fact that the new company has purchased all the IP rights to all FASA franchises, including Shadowrun and the Mechwarrior/Mechcommander series.
The company has not formally announced any games or even if any of these properties will be used in any game they make at this time. It does seem interesting that Microsoft basically let go of all these IPs without any fight. Either they felt they had no value, or maybe there is some sort of distribution deal in the works.

I’m guessing Microsoft lost heaps of money on Shadowrun and let it go for a song.
Man, I’m extremely excited in this venture and hope that it takes off. I will also be closely watching the Jobs section in case an opening come up. Being able to work on my favorite franchises would be most stupendous!
Back when FASA did the bulk of the work on their franchises, the games rocked: Mechwarrior 2 anyone?
Even the Shadowrun game for the SNES was pretty decent as well.
so this means that they still hope that theres gona be another shadowrun or at leats come out with new maps ior adds for the game cause shadowrun is a great game but we need a new one.
