Tiny Diggers – An iPad Construction Truck Game for Kids Age 2-5

Finally, a game that plays to my long-running fantasy of pitting an army of Insecticons against an army of… well, more Insecticons. This newly-announced game will bring us turn-based strategy with giant insect mechs fighting other giant insect mechs. There’s an official website and everything, and even some box art (at left) and a release date next March. Unfortunately, the website’s got nothing visual for us yet, so not much reason to bother visiting just now. Some tiny screens can be seen under “Drones” if you like, but they’re too small to be worthwhile.

Wireless local play is mentioned for the game. Looks like online play is out, that could have worked out nicely.

I enjoy turn-based strategy more than that other kind, just don’t tell my copy of Warcraft III. It’s already in a fragile state from how long I put off buying it and then how little I’ve played it since. Sad, considering it’s one of the only games I have that will run on my Mac.
