Video Footage of Uncensored Manhunt 2 Kills Hits the Web

It seems that GamesRadar got a full video of all the kills that were in Manhunt 2 when it got the AO rating. Some of these kills are still in the game, while others have been somewhat blurred and obscured in the final version. A warning to any that follow the link above – the footage is graphic and somewhat brutal in my own opinion. It definitely pushes the envelope of what was in the first Manhunt. [ed. note - I did not feel comfortable putting the video on the site. No age gate available, you have been warned]

After watching the full video, I have to say that it seems that the develpers definitely wanted to make the game far more violent than the last one. While we are seeing the violence out of context, it does look very brutal. At points, it was difficult to watch, even though it is virtual violence. Why is that exactly? Well, for me, it was more because I looked at the violence and it felt gritty and real. It definitely was in my face and I am not one that finds myself to be squeamish.

That being said, the game deserves every bit of the gore porn label that has been stuck on it. The first Manhunt told a story of a man that was a bad person, but was being used for evil means. He did not enjoy the killing, but it was a necessary end to the means. He wanted to get out of the insane asylum that he had been placed in by the corruption of the system. While the kills were violent, they seemed a bit more grounded in a reality. The kills in this video seem to be over the top, sometimes breaching upon territory I would expect from a Saw or Hostel movie (and no, I do not like those films either, for their glorification of violence, for no reason).

I am curious to see what our readers have to say about this game after looking at the footage. Am I just being a prude or is there some merit to this being just way over the top, a la gore just for the sake of gore? Let us know in this forum topic.
