Valve Washed Its Hands Of The PS3 Orange Box

Word on the Orange Box for PS3 has been hard to come by, so a new 1Up preview of the game should be a source of some welcome news for the folks who haven’t bought it for their PC’s or 360′s. I think those of us in that camp can forget about waiting for it because the preview revealed some serious framerate issues.

It also revealed that Valve isn’t even making the PS3 version of the game.

“An unspecified internal EA development team is responsible for the PS3 version.”

When James and I chatted earlier today about Unreal Tournament III going gold he mentioned how Valve’s badmouthing of the PS3 made him really not want to even give The Orange Box a chance. While I’ll keep an eye out for a review, I’m far less excited about the alleged quality of the game at this point, December 11th launch date or no.

Portal is a rock-solid port, though.

Is this any surprise. The guy just seems to hate the PS3. There is no love lost there. He genuinely seems to have fiery hatred for the PS3 and is doing all he can to torpedo its chances of making a comeback.

Nothing against the PS3, but I would not buy this version of the game as it will be hard to trust EA to do a good job with it.
