Here we are in the swing of what may be the greatest season in PC gaming going back several years.  We have had some great hits, but never this many in such a short period of time.  The last year I can remember a year this populated was back in 1999.  So here we are in November of 2007 and we are looking at a month that will release almost two dozen games in the span of four weeks.  So get ready to sell off all your worldly possessions to buy all these games.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare:

The Call of Duty franchise moves into the modern era of warfare in the fourth entry of the series.  New weapons, tactics and graphics engine breathe new life in a series that had started to get a little stale with the last installment.  Infinity Ward seems to have taken great pains to catch the feel of the chaos that occurs on the battlefield.  We also get to see some destructible environments for the first time.  Hide behind a car too long and it will blow up.  The only issue that has people worried is too many scripted events that will ruin the flow of the game play.  Look for it on November 5th.

Empire Earth III:

Sierra and Mad Dog bring back the Empire Earth franchise for a third time.  For the uninitiated, the Empire Earth franchise allows someone to build a civilization from ancient times to the far reaching future.  Known for being somewhat complex in nature, the tech tree and resource gathering has been simplified to get new gamers into the series.  Also, the game only allows the player to be one of three races this time around.  The graphic engine seems to be bumped up a bit from the last version of the game.  With the simplified interface, one has to wonder if old timers to the series will like the newer, slimmed down game.  Look for the game November 6th.

Gears of War:

Gears of War originally came out for the 360 last year and soon brought questions of whether a PC version was coming.  At first, there were denials, and then coyly worded press releases.  Well, now PC players will finally get a chance to play this great game with a mouse and keyboard.  The game will have five new chapters with the ability to fight the Brumak.  The content that has been added will be exclusive to the PC crowd.  The game will support Live for Windows with achievements.  Some may have already played it on the 360, but with all the new content, it is a great investment to get on the PC.  Look for it November 6th.

F.E.A.R.: Perseus Mandate:

Oh what a tangled web this game has weaved.  When Monolith split from Sierra, the F.E.A.R. property got split into two parts.  The F.E.A.R. name stuck with Sierra, while the source material stayed with Monolith.  This game is a standalone expansion to the original F.E.A.R. game.  It presents a story that runs parallel to the events that happened in the first F.E.A.R. game.  The one thing that could be disconcerting is people walking into this game, thinking it is a sequel, when it is really a new game, using the F.E.A.R. name.  Look for it November 6th.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance:

Supreme Commander came on the scene this year and was a huge hit from Chris Taylor.  This follow up is a standalone expansion pack that adds a new alien race to the conflict.  It adds spruced up graphics, refined AI and other little details that make the game feel brand new.  It also looks like there is enough content in this game, that it could be classified as a sequel.  The only problem I can see with this title is that it is being released in the middle of so many other great games, that it may get overlooked by those with limited dollars at their fingertips.  Look for it November 5th.
