My PS3 Turns Itself On
Ever since I installed the 2.0 firmware on my PS3, the system has been turning itself on. For some reason, whenever I activate the Remote On/Off feature in the system, the hardware will randomly fire itself up. After a few minutes of inactivity, the system will shut down and deactivate the Remote Play function. Normally the system will turn on about 5-10 minutes from the time when it’s originally shut down.
My real concern is, if it lasts for more than four hours…..should I consult a technician?
This definitely has a simple to fix, I just have to flip off the remote ON/OFF feature in my settings. Unfortunately, it’s a little disappointing to have to disable the functionality, considering that the only worthwhile feature in 2.0 was the Remote On/Off.
I’ve noticed numerous discussions in community forums regarding the issue, including but not excluding the Playstation Forums. The interesting part is that the official PS3 User’s Guide discusses this sort of behavior.
