BrightSpot.TV Burns Out
Many console gaming addicts use Gamefly to feed their need. Until recently, the wait time and cost of the service were my only hurdles but even then, I still continued to pay for their $22, 2-Game plan every month. The original Cheapass Gamer, our very own Paul, turned me onto BrightSpot.TV quite a few months ago.
The service paid members to view one minute video advertisements and answer questions about them. The questions were insanely simple. For example, you’ll watch an advertisement about the WNBA and they’ll ask you.
“Would you be found dead watching professional women’s basketball?”
They would then give me the option of choosing a, “yes” or “no” answer. After you submit your answer, $ .25 would be added to your account. At the end of every month, a maximum of $10 of earned “spots” would be credited to a subscription service of your choice which in my case was Gamefly.
Unfortunately, according to an e-mail I received from Gamefly today, BrightSpot.TV is offline. Gamefly has stated that they will honor any existing credits on my Brightspot.TV account, which is nice, but I’ll definitely miss those monthly credits.

Dear Member,
We have just learned that BrightSpot.TV is no longer operating as of today. While they have let us know that they intend to relaunch, we have no assurance that this will actually happen.
We realize that some of you found the Brightspot.TV service to be valuable, so we will honor all credits earned through today, November 20th. We will let you know if we learn any additional details. In the meantime, please contact brightspot@gamefly.com if you have any questions.
Thank you,
