Assassin’s Creed Not Getting Much Love
Today there has been an onslaught of reviews for Assassin’s Creed, and while many of them are applauding Ubisoft for trying new things, almost every one of them feels like the game is just a repetitive tech demo. An average of six reviews that I read came out to a score of 72%, not a mind-blowing score for what many thought would be a GOTY contender. I usually try and stay away from reviews, I try and not let them affect my decision to buy a certain game, but in a month where there are so many promising games to buy and not enough money to buy them all, Assassins Creed just turned into a rental for me. I was fully expecting to purchase the game today but after seeing so many less then stellar reviews, a gamer has to wonder if Assassin’s Creed is worth the money. There have been some glowing reviews of the game, even going so far as calling it one of the greatest games of all time, but a lot of over hyped games get inflated scores so when Gamefly sends me a copy I will judge for myself.

I wasn’t planning to buy A.C. but I was and still am planning to rent it. The review I did read really did praise the innovations of the game while tempering it with lukewarm responses to where it falls down.
It could pave the way for a more refined and tighter sequel if it sells well enough, and even then if they smell enough critical support for the core essentials of the game they could take another chance on a sequel and shore up the other aspects of the gameplay.
I think that this is another example in a long line of pushed out the door to meet the holiday season deadline. More spit and polish on this title and a March release date would have done wonders for it. It makes me wonder how the PC version will fare with the extra development time under its belt.
Too bad about the scores. I’ll still pick it up anyhow.
WoW i have it full paid/preordered but now that i see this article i might get my money back tomorrow when i go to game stop geez i mean 6-7 review there must be something wrong with it DAM IT i was so looking forward to this game…its a 50/50 now

Gamespot gives it a 9.0, and they’ve been pretty stingy overall. Check out all the merit badges they gave it.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised. I mean, this game was averaging a 92, then 90, now 84. Its falling fast. Who knows where it will land when they are all in.
ive been on that site ever since the article came out and checking out some other but i think if it drops in the 7′s by tomorrows im not buyin it if it stays in the 8′s im getting it i dont want to spend 75 if its not even a good game what could have cause such big gap differences in the scores between so many sites…
I was shocked at IGN’s score of 7.7. I mean they’re typically pretty critical of how the rate. Hmm..starting to have second thoughts.
