Review: Dragon Ball Z – Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3)

October 28, 2011 – 12:44 pm |

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

Wii Menu 3.1 appears, Internet and Everybody Votes Channels updated.

Submitted by on October 10, 2007 – 7:00 pm4 Comments

I came home today to the familiar blue flashing light on my Wii. There were a number of messages in my inbox, notifying me of various updates, including one to the Wii’s firmware, which is being referred to now as the Wii Menu version directly by Nintendo, and by number. Other updates mentioned were available for the Everybody Votes Channel, as well as their legal terms of use. I hit the Wii Shop Channel and found an update there for the Internet Channel as well after I picked up Wii Menu version 3.1. I didn’t notice any differences in glancing around, except for some big changes in the Internet Channel.

One thing I noticed is a translucent circle with an “i” in it that floats over the corner of the screen, looks like an “info” button. Also, I noticed a chime when you zoom the page to 100%, as well as overlaid text that appears, which says 100%. Click through to read all the messages as I received them.

Dear Customer,

We would like to inform you that you can now update your Wii Menu to version 3.1. To do this, please select the “Update” button at the bottom of your screen.

Please note that you can now use a USB keyboard with the Wii Menu.

Please go to www.nintendo.com to learn which keyboards can be used.

**If you’ve updated your system on or after October 10, you may already have the latest version of the system software and do not need to perform this update again.

Dear Customer,

We’d like to inform you that the Everybody Votes Channel has been updated to work with Wii Menu version 3.1. We recommend that you download the latest version of the Everybody Votes Channel if you have not already done so.

You can download the latest version of the Everybody Votes Channel through the WiiWare section of the Wii Shop Channel.

Updating or Downloading the Channel [Both are free of charge.]

(1) Select the Wii Shop Channel from the Wii Menu.
(2) Select the Everybody Votes Channel from the WiiWare section, and download the software.

The Wii User Agreements have been updated and are effective as of October 10, 2007.

Dear Customer,

Because you and your use of the Wii Network Service are subjected to the updated user agreements, we strongly recommend that you review the updated agreements by selecting the Wii icon located on the lower-left portion of the Wii Channel menu, selecting “Wii Settings,” accessing the “Internet” setting, and selecting “User Agreements.”

You may also review the updated Wii User Agreements at support.nintendo.com.

  • The other big change in the internet channel is that USB keyboards now work with it. Don’t you read any other news sites? :P

  • Stephen says:

The mention of USB keyboards is there, in the text of this article, where I’m quoting the message from Nintendo. Indeed I do read other sites, and they read ours.

  • I saw that it says you can use it with the menu, but that’s been true since the last update; it doesn’t mention that you can now use them in the internet channel.

  • c says:

…and yet nintendo.com has nothing to say, either about Wii Menu 3.1 or USB Keyboard compatibility. Come on, Nintendo, you’ve got to tell the right hand what the left hand is up to.
