Random Images from Day One at E for All
Well, the above image is from Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Nintendo Wii. I present these photos as an apology as I will not be able to get the video up from Day One until tomorrow evening. The video is all in order, but I forgot to get the base that allows me to download the video from the camera. But the video is worth it and has tons of great commentary from yours truly. Well its great unless you hate the sound of my voice. So click on the jump and check out some of the random images that we got from the show.
Here we have the Rock Band guitar. They had a gig where people could go on stage as a group and try to play their way onto a show on MTV. It seems rather surreal that they only way you get to watch music on MTV is when it is played through a video game. But the guitar looked pretty sturdy and it seemed like the fret keys on the stem made things a bit easier during hard sequences. And I was sucked into the game when I heard “Tom Sawyer” by Rush is in the game.
While not the greatest picture, this is a shot of the Rock Band drum kit. The kit looks a bit more sturdy that I thought but is not all that heavy. The staff was moving it around rather easily. I am assuming it comes with some sort of seat, but I cannot confirm that as of yet. When the first person went up on stage to try the drums, it seemed like it was easy to pick up and play. Again, the closer this game gets to release, the more I have seriously started to look at it.
One of the weirder things I saw at the show was Target as a main sponser. They have a cross marketing deal with Activision that will bring two custom guitars as well as unique stickers and straps. I did not get a chance to take a close look at the guitars today, but I will go back tomorrow to look at the guitars and see if there is anything that makes them unique compared to what we have looked at so far with Guitar Hero III.
Lastly, while this is not necessarily gaming related, I found it somewhat amusing. Let me set this up. Nintendo, wanting the best security possible for their Super Smash Brothers Brawl presentation, they had several members of the Los Angeles Police Department there making sure they did not get any pictures or video. The fact that I got two minutes worth of video goes to show you how well they did at stopping it. Anyway, the funny thing here is the fact that they were discussing lunch. All three of them paying no attention to what they were suppose to be protecting, and instead, they wanted to know where they were going to eat. It was a great scene. Good to see where the tax dollars of Los Angeles are spent.
