PS2: 7 Years, 120 Million Units, 1 Beeellion Games.
It’s funny how those anniversaries sneak up on you, but last week the PS2 turned 7 years old. It’s got quite an impressive stack of statistics with 120 million of them sold worldwide (another 10 million due to rack up by March 2008) and one billion software units sold. Really? Billion with a B? Impressive.
Even though it’s gone on a diet and looks positively 1990s with its newer, silver slim version in the US it seems much older doesn’t it? With its wired and proprietary controller ports, no built-in hard drive, integrated ethernet port, and dual-layer DVD playback it can really show its last-gen roots.
Seen on Joystiq.
