Project Gotham Racing 4 is the latest game in the Project Gotham Racing series. It also could be the last version made by Bizarre Creations, now that they are wholly owned by Activision. While the game adds a whole new championship element and a lot more cars and motorcycles, along with a new weather element, it does not do enough to really push it ahead of the effort in Project Gotham Racing 3.

Project Gotham Racing has always been about fast cars, fun tracks and Kudos. The Kudos have been the main staple of the game, rewarding drivers for pushing their car to the edge of their limits. Style is the key to scoring points in these games. Every powerslide, drift and two wheel maneuver, gets you Kudos points which will improve your standings. It has become the hallmark of the series and a motivator to pull off crazy, stylistic maneuvers at any opportunity.

Project Gotham Racing 4 gives you two paths to play the game. The first is the Arcade mode, which plays out similar to the Gotham Career mode in Project Gotham Racing 3. You can race at one of five difficulties in trophy races. At the end of a circuit, you get a trophy based on the difficulty you finished all the races in. In this mode, you start with a rookie racer and work your way through several tiers til you become the top racer in the world. You follow a calendar of events that allow you to participate or skip to another day. If you skip an event or fail to qualify, you cannot enter the event until the next year. Along the way, you get prize money to unlock cars and other modes of play.

Examples include packages like the American Muscle or BMW Sports pack, each corresponding to the type of cars in the pack. The assortment of cars is also pretty large with vehicles like the Enzo Ferrari, GMC Syclone, Buick Grand National (thank you!), a Delorian and some Ducatis. That

    A few corrections:

You can only skip Invitationals in Career Mode. All other events must be entered.

You don’t earn cash for winning, you earn Kudos which allow you to buy cars, tracks, etc.

You can buy individual cars at anytime. When you are given a list of cars to choose from scrolling down shows cars that can be purchased, with the Kudos cost next to them.

“Levels also look somewhat polished, but are essentially reused from the third game.”

While it’s true they brought back tracks from NYC, Vegas, London, Tokyo and the Nurburgring; you forgot to mention they added four new cities: St. Petersburg, Quebec, Shanghai and Macau for an additional 36 tracks.
