New PlayStation 3 Brand Campaign Launched
Sony’s most recent attempts to market its PS3 consisted of the white room ads. They started with disturbing things like the crying baby ad, the exploding rubik’s cube ad, and they later put some of their titles in the white room. Despite the game’s poor reviews, the Lair room ad was pretty cool. At least N’Gai Croal liked the white room ads.
Their new Marketing Manager has announced a new brand campaign for the PS3 featuring sample animations for Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, and Blu-ray. Blu-ray? Yeah there’s a spot for its high-definition movie format. You’d think they’d have put Ratchet and Clank in that last spot. Unless, of course, this is more of the same divided marketing from Sony who has historically played up its Blu-ray status as equally as its game offerings.
I just have one observation about the morphing PS3. It very strongly reminds me of The Darkness.
