Mario Kart Wii to bring motorcycles back to the series.

    By Stephen Munn | October 10, 2007

In The Wiire’s report from Nintendo Japanese press conference, it is mentioned that motorcycles are apparently also in for next year’s Wii iteration of the Mario Kart franchise. This doesn’t break the earth and draw us all in really, partly because at least one of the vehicles available in Mario Kart DS at least looked like a motorcycle, as I recall. It is nice to hear that there are multiple classes of vehicle though, because that brought a lot of depth to the franchise going at least as far back as Mario Kart: Double Dash. I still want to hear of 25 (or more) drivers to choose from, and true confirmation of 16-man online multiplayer, but hey, this is something for those of us who enjoy karting with the plumber and his pals.

UPDATE! N-Sider has screenshots of the new Mario Kart.
