Make sure you order some rubbers to put on your Wii. Uh, Jackets.

In their ever raging war against Wii Remote-flinging household object demolishing Wii Sports enthusiasts, Nintendo has introduced the Wii Remote Jacket, a silicone rubber accessory that you slap your Wii Remote into that makes it wider at both ends, presumably for her pleasure.

In addition to the announcement yesterday, this morning Nintendo sent notice to Wiiconnect24 users that they can go to the website and order some for their existing Wii Remotes. This works pretty much exactly the way it did when they introduced the new wrist straps: these will be packed in with all new Wiis, and current Wii owners can order them free of charge. Just punch in your Wii’s serial and tell them how many you want, for a maximum of four.

The idea is that if your Wii Remote does go flying, it’s more likely to bounce than destroy.

Good idea, but I wonder if it’s still as easy to use without one?
