Headset-Free Warhawk Lands At Retail

A new, headset-free version of Warhawk hits retail today for the formerly-PlayStation Network-only price of $39.99. As someone who downloaded the game on the first day before reading the fine print detailing the copy protection teeth attached to it, this is annoying. I’d already settled on my bluetooth headset prior to buying Warhawk, so this retail version would have been my preferred format. Had I known this version was coming (and nobody did until a week or two ago) when the original launched, I would have waited a bit, seen the copy protection detailed in the press, and then bought this one.

But I didn’t, so I’m not about to spend another forty bucks on something that, frankly, I don’t really need. Nobody but me is likely to play Warhawk in my house in the near to distant future, and in the meantime I can rest happily knowing that the game is just an X-button-push away from loading and jumping online to play.

So if you’ve got friends who want to play Warhawk on their own PSN ID’s on your PS3, this is now the version to get. And if you don’t have a headset to play it with, well, you’re missing out, because only with effective communication can the best team win.

Check it out at Gamestop or Amazon with free shipping via CAG. See you online!
