Every Extended Extra Extreme, or E4 as it will further be named, fuses together music, fast action and lots of color to provide the player with a satisfying experience, but comes up a bit short for the 800 point price tag.

The goal of E4 is to try to destroy as many markers that come on the screen within the allotted amount of time. It sounds simple, but there are some special markers that can come up to add to your gaming experience. One example is that you can destroy yellow markers which will turn into a time icon that you can scoop up. Blue markers will turn into diamonds that can boost your multiplier. You also have to start the destruction before your marker runs out of shields and explode, killing your multiplier and rhythm.

And therein lies the strategy, because your goal is to keep the game going for as long as possible, using the time icons and getting your score higher by collecting multiplier tiles. At times when time starts to dwindle, you start asking yourself,

The Unlimited Time game is more an exercise in raw video game endurance than anything else. It is possible to play the unlimited game for as long as you’re able without seeing any appreciable increase in difficulty. After a couple 2 hour games (both ended when I just got tired of playing), I’ve not yet had the mental fortitude to jump back into Unlimited Mode.

The Limited Mode and Revenge Modes, on the other hand, are a lot more fun to play. Haven’t played multiplayer yet… no one else is online.

There is a “use your own song” version too, isn’t there? Why no mention of if it’s any good or works?

the “use your own music” mode is called “Wiz Your Muzik” or something. it has a nifty song analyzer that will store up to 1000 analyzed songs. ultimately, it seems the “community” has decided that putting in your own BPMs or using bpmdatabase.com works better.

the multiplayer is good when you can find people to play. if u host a game ive found that a person will join in anywhere between 3 to 30 seconds. its not too bad a wait. the dynamic in the multiplayer is quite interesting. it has a lot of risk vs reward associated with it. prolly my favorite part of the whole pack after having played the other modes for an extent of time.

Had no clue you could add your own music. I saw no mention of that in the notes that were sent with the review code. I will have to check that out. That could make the game a lot more interesting if I actually had music I knew.
