Brawl goes from key Christmas title to key Valentine’s Day title.

There are people who seem to think that a software delay from Nintendo is so commonplace that it is not news. Often, Nintendo will give release windows, and those windows will slide, as happened with Twilight Princess. What is uncommon in my experience is Nintendo providing an actual release date, and then changing it. This happened with Metroid Prime 3, when it was quietly moved from August 20th to August 27th, and today it happened again, when Nintendo revealed that they would be moving Super Smash Bros Brawl, a key holiday title for the platform and another game that’s suffered from the sliding window effect, to February 10th, 2008.
Nintendo cites the fact that they’re trying to gather in more third party characters for the Brawl, and there is mention of online and offline content sharing. I’d love that, but perhaps I’d rather they said they’re working on voice chat and improving online performance.
