Assassin’s Creed for DS is on Nintendo’s release list for 2008.
That’s about as official as it gets, folks. For a while now there’s been talk of a Nintendo DS Assassin’s Creed game, fueled almost entirely (if not entirely) by retail listings. In the wake of their recent press conference, which dumped a short ton of data on those of us whose job it is to relay it to you, Nintendo published a release list telling us what to expect on their platforms over the course of the next several months.
Of course, a list this long has lots of newsworthy items, but Joe and I were talking about Assassin’s Creed in the most recent Aeropodcast, and briefly touched upon the persistent rumor of a Nintendo DS version of the game. This list puts the game up for a February release, which marks the first real official confirmation that the game even exists… at least to my knowledge. Someone out there will know if I’m wrong and hopefully tell me.
Naturally, I wouldn’t expect them to try to port the console game to the DS. This will be something completely different, perhaps like what they did with Battles of Prince of Persia. Read on for the release.
