Stranglehold PC Demo Impressions

The demo in the game is identical to the one that has been available on Live for about a couple of weeks now, so it made for a good comparison, because I played through the 360 demo about a dozen times just to get my Tequila fix on. The first thing I noticed was the game did run smooth and the dialgue was nice and crisp. Chow Yun Fat sounded a little stiff at first, but it got a bit better towards the last cut scene in the demo.

The destructible enviroments are nice and as advertised. Every crate, box, piece of fruit and even walls can be broken and destroyed. About the only thing that looks to be safe are the buildings that surround you. It is a bit linear as you do not have any way to create your own routes or go about missions in your own manner. Not that this is a bad thing, but with all the wanton destruction, it would have been nice to see a little more freedom to roam.

The current specs of the demo definitely give the 360 the advantage in the graphics department, but the final release will allow for more graphical settings to up the resolution and detail settings to get a little more out of the game. But as it stands, it just does not look like what I was playing at E3 currently. The graphics just looked sharper and cleaner at E3 vs. now.
