Once Again, Stranglehold is Delayed for the PS3

In what is starting to sound like a broken record, Midway has delayed Stranglehold for release on the PS3. The date has now been pushed back to October 29th of this year, according to EB Games and Gamestop listings. One has to wonder when this becomes more of an issue with game developers when they start to have issues with the development platform. It has almost become a joke of the industry.

And this delay will only hurt sales in the long run as the game has received lukewarm reviews at best on the two platforms it has come out on so far. We are still looking to receive word from Midway about the delay, but no official word has been released yet.

I hope they make it look nice, because I feel the PS3 demo of the game isn’t pretty enough. I do like the core gunfighting mechanics, especially the showdown and dueling mode, but it just doesn’t look that hot.

And the clip of multiplayer video you get really gives me the impression that multiplayer isn’t of much value for the game.

I’d probably play through it once I cleared out my back catalog of stuff to play, but that might be a while.

Paul, I have enjoyed the story and the action is not all that bad. It is a bit repetitive, but enjoyable. I have almost given up on multiplayer as I can never find a server running on the PC.

This would of been a game to add Live for Windows to, just to get the achievement whores out for more points. Not sure, but I think the PC and 360 versions count as separate points, because they are listed differently. Can’t confirm that however.
