Nvidia’s G92 is rumored to be known as “D8P” which stands for Desktop 8 Performance and is going to be named as 8700GTS. The G92 is said to use a 256-bit bus rather than the 320-bit in current 8800GTS cards which means that performance might be slightly lesser than the current generation. However, it will also sport 1ns GDDR3 memories and will come in 2 variants – 256MB and 512MB. Note that the 512MB is rumored to be priced at around the same range as the current 320MB 8800GTS. It does look like the current 8800GTS cards might be phased out by the new series.

Remember that none of these news are confirmed by Nvidia. However, as we reported earlier it might prove worthwhile for users looking to upgrade their computers to wait till the 12th of November before doing so.
