Mass Effect To Include Lesbian Hot Coffee

According to MaxConsole.net, The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has given a “12″ rating to Mass Effect on the ground that it “contains moderate violence and one moderate sex scene.” Wait, what? What exactly does “one moderate sex scene” mean?

An examination of the BBFC website shows the following:

“The single sex scene is brief and undetailed, although there is breast nudity in one version of the scene. The sex scene is triggered by the player making a series of choices about becoming more than friends with a colleague. If playing as a male character the scene can take place between him and a human woman or a humanoid female alien. If playing as a female character the scene can take place between her and a male human or a female humanoid alien.”

So, there you have it. Mass Effect is going to include a nude sex scene. I must say I’m a little disappointed. I would hope that Mass Effect could be the kind of game that any teenager would be able to play, but I now see that will not be the case. I know a lot of people don’t have a problem with this sort of content, but I do. I’ve posted before about my feelings regarding sex and violence in video games, and I feel this is exactly the same thing, although mildly less extreme than the infamous Hot Coffee mod for GTA.

If this stays in the game upon release, I can honestly say I’ll be boycotting the Mass Effect series.

George if u think thats bad nvr go to Europe lol every 3 commercials is a half naked woman seelin shampoo or something but truthfully i dont think its as bad as extreme violence but mabys its the way we have been raised to think personally i dont mind etheir in a game. u really wouldnt play a possible great game just cuz of a possible sex shoot it not like ur forced into it after all u have to choose to become more than colleagues. i dont think i will be changing ur mind on this it looks like ur closed on this topic lol

Insta-ban over something that you haven’t even seen and is described as “brief and undetailed”? The “What about the children” argument? Casually dropping the word “boycott,” which is a far more loaded choice than simply saying “I won’t be purchasing”?

For all you know, the whole thing is completely tasteful and respectfully dramatic… but you pre-judge it based on your personal hangups. That’s more than a little disappointing.

I don’t understand the problem here. Mass Effect is attempting to offer a level realism we haven’t seen before (admittedly in an imagined future cyber world based on the 80′s), where your conversations, actions, and interactions with others lead to believable in-game events.

Now, I’m no Cassanova, but every so often some of my conversations, actions and interactions with others have lead to me getting my end away, which, quite frankly, is far more unbvelievable then a bad ass space marine on a mission to save all life finding someone in the vastness of the universe who think’s he/she is kinda cool.

Everyone is titled to their opinion George. I mean if you feel strongly enough to boycott something then go ahead an by all means. It’s your choice.

But you also need to examine the future of the gaming industry and the “evolution” of video games as whole. With regards to Manhunt 2/GTA/Condemned/etc, violence in video games have pretty much been pushed to the point. Where else is there to go? Exploring the sexual side of video games only seems as a natural progression.

I agree with George. I am not a teenager, (older) but I still heavily play video games, it’s how I relax.

I pre-ordered Mass Efect about a month ago, but now that this “nude sex” has come out in the game, I will be canceling my pre-order and NOT be purchasing the game.

Sex in video games is unreal, perverted, and a little sad. I never played God of War either just because of the ten second nude sex scene. These things just arn’t needed for someone to enjoy a good story. In fact, they ruin the experience.
