Logitech Cordless MediaBoard Pro Bluetooth Keyboard and Headset Announced

Logitech has announced the replacement for their PS3 Cordless Mediaboard that I bought not three months ago, and I’m a little miffed. The version I have is great, don’t get me wrong. The integrated trackpad makes it worth using and holding on to, and the really long battery life with an actual on-off switch (no timing out thank you very much) have made it a keeper. But this new one includes new action buttons (square, x, circle, and triangle) along with a Menu button (which might be the same as the PlayStation button) and it’s bluetooth. The current Mediaboard has a very small USB dongle that fits nicely on the front of the PS3 and gives it excellent range. Plus, the new keyboard is black, a plus when the original one is silver, and when it shows up in October it will cost the same as the silver one did, $79.99.
It runs on two AA batteries, which is the same as the previous RF keyboard, but the older keyboard may have an edge in the price department — it’s currently listed at $59.99 at retail. Not exactly a fire sale price, but it may work with other consoles that don’t have bluetooth like the 360 or the Wii. Not sure if the 360 likes mice, though, so the touch pad might not be used then.
They’ve announced it alongside a new bluetooth headset, which is nice and all, but not as nice as the keyboard.
This just means it’s time for me to test out the RF mediaboard with another computer to justify buying the new one.
