While I like Apple, I wouldn't say this adds to their solid reputation so much as it simply negates the negativity (to a degree) of dropping the price so fast on the early adopters. I really believe early adopters assume a certain risk of this, but this type of thing is unprecedented, particularly from apple. Well, you rarely see a large company drop a price this far this fast either.
