Warhawk On PSN Right Now

Submitted by on August 28, 2007 – 12:35 am5 Comments

Warhawk! As I sit here and watch the percentage tick upward, I figured I’d spread the word that Warhawk has hit the US PSN at the stroke of midnight, weighing in at 798mb. I mentioned during the podcast this past weekend that it would be delayed, which it is, but that’s only in the UK.

So it’s available right now, for your gaming pleasure. However, you have some decisions to make. Do you buy it tonight risking the possibility of a career-threatening all-nighter or do you just wait until you return from work tomorrow and ruin your afternoon?

I’m buying a new laptop tomorrow, so my evening will be spent searching for the right color VAIO for the Wife. I have to get my gaming in tonight, if only for a little while. I’ll let you know how long I actually…….ay…..download is done…

That seems really small for a game. Makes me think there are very few maps.

There are actually 5 worlds (in the beta) and each is divided into larger and smaller sections based on the game type.

If you choose, say, dogfight only you can’t land and it’s Warhawk only. If you choose, say 8 players max, then you would choose the world and hopefully start with a smaller section of map.

It was enough to keep me playing for months during the beta. The servers are filled online even tonight, so I expect it to sell very, very well.

I tried downloading it last night but the damn Sony store would not accept my credit card. SO much for Warhawk I guess….Sony tech support was awful to deal with and pretty much said the only reason for this was because my card was expired…funny that I used it this morning to buy gas!

    Richard,

I had this same exact problem when I first added a credit card to the system, but I can’t remember for the life of me what I had to do to take care of it. I want to say it had to do with exactly how I typed it in, e.g. with or without spaces in the number. I know I didn’t end up calling tech support, though. Maybe I used a different card? I can’t recall. I did end up attaching my Sony credit card I used to buy the PS3 with (and get the $150 off) to the account.

    Hope that helps.

And as for the delay in the UK, it’s probably to add in all the extra u’s in colour and behaviour and to change the signoffs to say “cheers!” or some such.

You boys better be careful giving out your credit card numbers to Sony. Wouldn’t be above them to try and do a little identity theft the way their sales are going.
