The ESA Decides to Edit Modchip Entries on Wikipedia

It seems that the Wikipedia Scanner is the new tool of the trade when trying to figure out who is changing game entries on Wikipedia. The ESA is the current company to get caught with its hands in the cookie jar. They edited the modchip wiki, removing such items as the legal ownership of modchips in Australia. They also edited the entry covering abandonware.

While I don’t necessarily support modchips or abandonware (always buy your software kids), the fact that a corporate entity has once again been caught modifying entries on Wikipedia is more than a bit disconcerting.

Yes buy your software, if you’re rich. $1000 for Adobe CS3? Are you kidding?

Not sure how I feel about all this. I kinda think it’s the reader’s fault if they take Wikipedia’s content for fact. I love Wikipedia, but I’d never source it for anything *important*. It’s good for minutiae that nobody would contest, but anything controversial is not going to be authoritative.
