That wormy feeling? Team 17′s readying multiplayer mayhem.

Going back a few years, I had a game called Worms: Blast. It was a kind of combat-oriented version of Bust-A-Move where you selected a wormy soldier and paddled around in a boat while firing missiles at colored balls, and at each other through the split-screen. The game was pretty much panned everywhere, but my wife and I spent hours laughing hysterically at the madness that would erupt on screen every time we played. Yet another example of reviewers “just not getting” that a game is fun, am I right?
Anyway, the real gems in Team 17′s Worms franchise are very different animals from that casual puzzle hybrid. It’s a lot for me to talk, because like so many of these great games, I completely missed all the “good” Worms games. Paul pointed out for me a few minutes ago that Shacknews has some info on an upcoming Team 17 Worms game for the Wii (called Worms: A Space Oddity) that will support four players online. Let me just say that if it’s anywhere near as much insane fun as Blast was, I’ll be happy to give it a spin.
Check it at Shacknews.
