Most Valuable Third-Party day at the Wii Shop Channel!
Today on the Wii Shop Channel, in the Virtual Console aisle, you can see a nice selection of three great games from two of the best third party developers… ever. I was surprised to see no first party titles this week when I loaded the Shop Channel on my Wii, and instead, two games from Capcom, and two from Konami.
From Capcom, we’ve got Breath of Fire II and Ghouls’n Ghosts, and from Konami, Super C, which is a Contra sequel. Nintendo’s billing it as some kind of sequel-fest, but I think the appreciation of third parties this reflects is very pleasing. You only know these companies love the easy money of the virtual console, and while Konami is better represented on the system right now, Capcom is no slouch.
Still, nothing from Nintendo, Sega, or Hudson today? You’d think I’d be upset, but this makes me very happy.
You can see the press release below, complete with dropped special characters replaced with question marks. Who knows what Nintendo intended them to be, but you can be sure if I knew where they want a © or a ™, they’d be there.
