More Mafia 2 Mayhem

Last week we mentioned a little nugget for PC and next-gen gamers out there that Mafia 2 is in the works. When I first heard official mention of this, it was on our own site. Joe had posted this news bit and I immediately leaped out of my crappy desk chair and flew over to his house in California where I whacked ‘em in disbelief, leaving him awestruck with my unhealthy passion for this game. Then, I hear today they have an official site up with screenshots and more information on this classic 2004 PC game.

Developer, Illusion Softworks, in Prague, Czech Republic and Publisher, 2K Games say the game will still be set in the 1940′s and 1950′s with engaging narrative and high octane gunplay. I’m noticing a trend here in their choice of time frames for the Mafia series. The first Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, was set in the 1930′s, will the third installment, if it exists, be set in the 60′s-70′s?
