Mafia Set To Return to the Game World

    By Joe Haygood | August 17, 2007

    mafiaannounce.jpg

Released in 2003, Mafia was a defining game, for its amazing visuals (which still hold up well today) and its top notch story. Some say that it is the game that The Godfather game should have been. Well, it looks like a sequel may finally be making its way back to gamers around the world.

The German ratings board has put out a rating for a game trailer that will be shown at the Leipzig Games Convention next week. The name on the trailer is Mafia 2. Not much else is said except that the trailer is rated for teens over 16. Rumor is that Illusions will be making an announcement as early as next week, but some have said that the announcement may be moved up due to this leak.

Oh man this is HUGE news for me. Mafia was one of my all time fav's. Godfather stood on the shoulders of the developers of Mafia, and yes, it is still a great game by today's standards. Can't wait!! Hopefully it will go to console as well.
