Looks Like Eidos Might Have a Doctor Who Game On the Way

Submitted by on August 2, 2007 – 12:39 pm3 Comments

Tom_Baker_m610027.jpgDoctor Who, our favorite Time Lord, looks like he is coming to a handheld or PC near you. Ironstone Partners has stated that they are making the game and are releasing it on the DS, PSP and the PC. The game is rumored to be more of a casual game (sigh…), hence the platform choices. The only thing that is a bit strange in all of this is that Eidos, the rumored publisher of the game, has not said anything but a firm, “no comment.”

Being a fan of the series since I was introduced to it as a youngster with a dad stationed in England, I was really happy to hear the news, but I was a bit disappointed that they are taking the causal route with the Doctor. There is so much history and adventure over 30 years, that you would think that they could make a solid action/adventure or RPG type game. One can dream I guess.

And as you can tell by the above picture, I still think that Tom Baker is the best Doctor of all of them. Where do you stand on that?

Many thanks to Eurogamer on this one.

Is this that Top Trumps games that was mentioned on Kotaku about a week ago? If this turns out to the the handheld video game version of the Top Trumps card game, you Who fans are going to be bitterly disappointed. Top Trumps (very popular in England) is just a fancier version of War, with several comparative parameters per card. IE, not just the number.

I agree, Tom Baker was the best doctor, scraggly hair and all.

I saw a fake Tardus and a Dialec (I probably butchered the spelling) at an aerospace museum in Manchester. The only thing I thought that beat that was seeing an actual Japanese Kamikaze plan from WW2. Of course, it had never been used. ;P
